The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Network Operators Group (KPNOG) is a newly formed initiative aimed at building technical capacity, cybersecurity awareness, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet governance knowledge in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
KPNOG is envisioned as a grassroots, community-driven initiative that draws inspiration from successful models such as APNIC Foundation and APNIC. Both of these organizations work to promote internet development, digital literacy, and community collaboration across the Asia-Pacific and Pakistan, respectively. KPNOG focuses on IPv6, Cybersecurity, Internet Governance, Trainings, Fellowships, Cloud & Cloud Security, Artificial Intelligence, infrastructure strengthening, and capacity development.
KPNOG will extend this vision into the local context of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) areas, where the digital divide remains significant and opportunities for professional IT education, internet infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud literacy are limited. The goal is to build a vibrant, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystem for KP by bringing together technologists, network engineers, students, policymakers, private-sector stakeholders and volunteers.
